local car was really tough. I looked around and didn't see any obvious collision damage... the only thing I noticed was that the OEM intake pipes seemed to be sitting in a slightly different position than most. The mounting tabs looked unbent and the bolts that holds them to the frame rail were properly located as well. It seems it was just a case of tolerances being stacked in an unfavorable way. Other cars went together without a sweat so its hard to know. I would have to survey a ton of cars to establish the dimensional variance as built then find a way to accomodate it which is a tall order. During the design phase I referenced 3 cars which I felt was a reasonable sampling at the time.
